Citroën unveils Ami's tiny two-seater electric car

Citroën presented a tiny two-seater electric car Ami

Citroën has released a new urban electric car, which can actually be considered a closed scooter.

The new project of the French automaker underThe name Ami is equipped with a 5.5 kWh battery, the charge of which is enough to travel no more than 70 km. It charges from any standard 220 volt outlet in no more than three hours. Another consequence of the low power is that it can accelerate to a maximum of 45 km/h.

Such restrictions will not allow you to enjoy long journeys or motorway driving, butCitroën originally developed the Ami asurban transport suitable for narrow European streets. Its compact size and low power will allow residents of most EU countries to drive it without a driver's license from the age of 16.

For those who want to buy Ami, but cannot immediatelyto pay €6 thousand, the automaker will offer the option of a two-year lease until the full amount is paid with a monthly payment of €20, but only after an initial payment of €2644. Before purchasing, the miniature electric car can also be rented for €0.26 per minute.

The first deliveries will begin in France in June 2020.
