The Prysmatic Labs development team has announced that the launch of the new version of the ETH 2.0 test network is due on April 18 or 19, 2020.
Topaz will be the fourth (after Ruby, Sapphire andDiamond) iteration of the zero phase of the future version of Ethereum. It will have to cover the full configuration of Network 2.0, and also reflect its scale and parameters as much as possible.
With Sapphire, validators will be able to depositonly 3.2 ETH, but to participate they will need to collect all 32 ETH in total. Since yesterday, the Prysmatic Labs team has already begun to abandon their previous validators, sending new onesdeposits of genesis.
Despite the possibility of interacting with several clients in accordance with the latest specifications for phase 0, Diamond will remain the official version of the multi-client network of the project.
Let us recall that earlier the Ethereum community protested against the activation of the ProgPoW algorithm.
