Hedera Hashgraph promises to circumvent Ethereum and Bitcoin in transaction speed

Hedera Hashgraph, a new public blockchain network,which claims to be faster thanEthereum and Bitcoin networks, has launched a beta version of its core network for the general public. The network was previously in closed beta with access to select developers.

On Monday, Hedera said the network can support up to 10,000 transactions per second, compared to 15 for Ethereum and 2.8 per second for Bitcoin. 

The Hedera network also offers intelligentcontract and file services, and are currently limited to 10 transactions per second. The company plans to increase the speed of " during the remainder of 2019,” the statement said.

Among 26 decentralized applications (dApps),which will be launched on the Hedera network, – AdsDax, a decentralized advertising platform that claims to have already completed over 2 million transactions in 10 days, Chainlink, which will give Hedera-based apps the ability to connect to offline data, and drug development consultancy Certara, which aims to provide "advanced analytics and demonstrating the origin of transaction data."
