Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK), behind the development of the Cardano blockchain platform, is partnering with the Ethiopian government on a program to modernize the education system.
The research unit will helpAfrican country to introduce a new system for digital verification of grades and remote monitoring of progress, as well as verification of the identity of students and teachers. As part of the initiative, about 5 million schoolchildren in 3.5 thousand schools will receive secure digital identifiers.
Integrating the Cardano blockchain into the education system will provideto the Ethiopian government better tools to analyze and improve performance in specific regions.
Going forward, IOHK plans to expand the scope of the project to include higher education institutions to digitally validate and facilitate student employment.
Recall that since last year, the commercial infrastructure has already been operating on the blockchain platform.
