Cardano subsidiary will help Uzbekistan develop blockchain

Cardano's commercial arm, Emurgo, has partnered with the government of Uzbekistan during thewhich will form a working group for the development of cryptocurrency regulations.

In a January 20 press release, Emurgo announced a new collaboration with the Uzbek government and Kobea Group & Infinity Blockchain Holdings, the country's official consultant on the country's digital economic development project. 

As part of the cooperation, Emurgo and Kobea will provide consulting services regarding the development of the banking industry, the creation of training programs on blockchain, and other issues.It is reported that a subsidiary of Cardano is integrating its educational-blockchain platform into the work of Uzbek universities. 

The Government of Uzbekistan has previouslydemonstrated its positive attitude towards distributed ledger technology. Recall that this year the government announced the creation of a single national mining pool and state cryptocurrency exchange.

However, in December last year, Uzbekistan banned the purchase and sale of cryptocurrencies, as well as its use as a means of payment for goods or services.
