Brave browser has its own built-in crypto wallet

As a result of Tuesday's update, the Brave browser, which supports anonymity and rewards...voluntary viewing of ads, received a built-in crypto wallet. Prior to that, Brave had been using the third-party MetaMask wallet for many years.

Brave Wallet lets you buy tokensthrough Wyre, track portfolio performance, exchange a wide range of tokens, and store non-fungible tokens (NFT). It assumes complete self-service, since its users store their own private keys.

According to the Brave team, the wallet supports tokens of all networks that are compatible with the Ethereum virtual machine.

Adding your own wallet is logicalsolution for Brave Software, Inc., which has 42 million monthly active users. Receiving funds from various companies, the browser pays users incentives in the form of BAT tokens.

Placing a trading function opens up newsources of income for Brave. A company spokesperson revealed that Brave plans to charge 0.875% of all token swaps initiated through the wallet interface, which is in line with MetaMask's swap fees.

The press release states that Brave Wallet has an open source MPL license, so developers can view the wallet's source code and redo it.
