The official release of the private blockchain browser Brave

Brave Software has unveiled the official release of the Brave private blockchain browser after three years of beta.

Brave version 1.0 is now available for Windows, macOS and Linux, as well as on Google Play and the App Store.

The developers claim that the browser is 3-6 timesFaster than other web browsers it loads web pages because it blocks third-party advertisements. This is especially true for mobile Internet users, they say.

The browser also by default blocks location tracking, fingerprinting, malware, third-party cookies, and automatic video playback.

Brave only shows ads that it places through its own blockchain-based ad network. Users can earn money by viewing its Basic Attention Token (BAT).

The company has more than 8 million browser users worldwide.
