Ethereum developers have scheduled the activation date for the new upgrade on April 14.
The Berlin hard fork marksfinal transition from Proof-of-Work to Eth 2.0 staking network.
The update was previously scheduled for June 2020of the year. However, the developers noticed a bug with the Geth client that could be devastating to the network. Because of this, the update was delayed until April 14th.
The Berlin hard fork will include five Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIP).
Basically, these proposals are aimed at adjusting the gas price, strengthening the protection of the Ethereum network from DDoS attacks, as well as increasing the efficiency of smart contracts.
