20,000 Venezuelan stores will start accepting cryptocurrencies for payment

Cryptocurrency payment operator Cryptobuyer has announced a partnership with Megasoft, in which residentsVenezuelans will be able to pay with cryptocurrencies at 20,000 outlets in the country.

Shops, including the largest chains in the country, will use the Megasoft Merchan Server platform. In June, the Central Madeirense supermarket chain, Famrmatodo pharmacies, Cines Unidos cinemas and many other stores will start accepting BTC, ETH, DASH, LTC, BNB, USDT, DAI and their own Cryptobuyer token - XPT.

However, the ability to pay with cryptocurrenciesdoes not mean that a large number of Venezuelans will begin to use it. One of the factors that push citizens away from using cryptocurrencies is the high volatility of digital assets, which is even more noticeable given the low income of the population in Venezuela.

Cryptobuyer has previously partnered with a localretail chain of Traki. Over the past two years, less than 1,000 cryptocurrency transactions have been registered in 40 Traki stores, which indicates the low popularity of cryptocurrency payments among Venezuelans. However, new payment options can spur the popularity of payments in cryptocurrencies.

Let us recall that since March 17, a national quarantine was declared in Venezuela due to the coronavirus pandemic, and against the backdrop of this, Bitcoin trading volumes have noticeably increased in the country.
