Barnaul police officers investigate the fact of fraud in the amount of 14,000,000 rubles

A resident of Barnaul lost 14 million rubles after trying to make money on cryptocurrency, reports the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs forAltai Territory.

To the duty station of the police department in Centralthe district of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Barnaul received a statement from the victim born in 1963. The man said that unknown persons stole 14,000,000 rubles from him by deception and abuse of trust.

It was found that the victim learned from hisfamiliar that you can make good money trading on the stock exchange. Having become interested in this proposal, the man decided to invest money in the stock markets. Having entered into an agreement with a consulting company through a certain financial analyst, the man handed over the management of his trading account. Since 2019, the victim has periodically replenished the account, so the total amount was 14,000,000 rubles. The day before, a financial analyst said in an email that there was a collapse of bitcoin on the cryptocurrency exchange and all funds were lost.

At present, a criminal case has been initiated on this fact under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud committed on an especially large scale."
