Russian woman lost 737 thousand rubles after installing the "application for cryptocurrency trading"

A 41-year-old resident of Sol-Iletsk became a victim of a fraudulent website advertising brokerage services incryptocurrency trading. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Orenburg region.

The woman was interested in the advertisementopportunities to make a profit using cryptocurrencies. She registered on a «cryptocurrency exchange», after which she was contacted by a person who introduced himself as a «broker».

Allegedly, to provide his services, he asked a Russian woman to install two applications that provide remote access to her phone.

When the victim entered a bank card number on the site, the «broker» stole 737 thousand rubles from her.

Opened fraud proceedings. Attackers face up to 6 years in prison.

Earlier, an Irkutsk citizen lost 850 thousand rubles in a “cryptocurrency transaction.”
