TCL to release wearable OLED display for smartphone in the form of glasses

In July, TCL will begin selling a wearable display for a phone that human eyes will perceive as 140-inch.

The device was introduced back in 2019, butserial production has just begun. It is called Nxtwear G and is a pair of glasses with built-in stereo speakers and micro-OLED displays with a resolution of 1080p. The user perceives them as a 140-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 16: 9.

According to the technical description of the Chinese manufacturer, the device can produce content in 4K and 3D format.The current version does not support technologiesvirtual and augmented reality, in contrast to the prototype headset Facebook. In addition to a phone, it can also be paired with a tablet or laptop for remote work.

The Nxtwear G weighs 100 g with cable. Although the wearable display does not have a battery, it does have an accelerometer, gyroscope and compass. According to the manufacturer, it can be worn over glasses.

The manufacturer has not yet disclosed at what price it will sell the Nxtwear G, but Australia will be the first market it will hit. Sales are due to start next month.
