Sony launches spatial reality display for viewing 3D objects without a headset

Sony has unveiled a display that tracks eye movements andthe user's position to create a three-dimensional holographic image.

Although 3D TVs haven't gotten enoughwidespread, the technology is still of interest in the field of graphic design and computer graphics. It is for visual designers that Sony has created a spatial reality display.

It is a 15.6 inch 4K LCDwith a built-in video sensor for tracking eye movement and body position in relation to it. The top is covered with a micro-optic lens that separates the screen for the left and right eyes, which creates a stereoscopic image. This allows you to view dynamic 3D models and scenes without the need for an additional headset.

The company originally developed it forprofessional applications, so the SR display requires a powerful computer with at least an Intel Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super graphics card to handle its complex rendering algorithm in real time. This is due to the constant creation of separate 2K images, adjusting to the movement of each of the user's eyes.

Sony will start selling such displays in November for $ 5,000.

Let us remind you that the Japanese company also previously presented a screen with a resolution of 16K.
