Opera announces integration with DeFi platform DeversiFi

Web3-enabled web browser Opera has announced the integration of Starkware-powered DeversiFi in collaboration withblockchain company Gateway.fm. Thus, the browser allowed its users to directly interact with layer 2 of Ethereum.

The move was part of Opera's plans to offereconomical and efficient transactions in your mobile browser wallet, as well as a strategy aimed at making the use of cryptocurrency more mainstream.

According to the official press release, the integrationwill provide low-cost and faster DeFi features to millions of browser users. DeversiFi's decentralized exchange eliminates the need to provide users' personal data.

The Opera team said that the growing insanityaround the DeFi sector and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has caused prohibitively high transaction fees on the Ethereum mainnet. The partnership with DeversiFi and the integration of a layer 2 solution will help Opera users send ETH to each other in peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions with a layer 2 exchange feature.

The main goal is to remove the main obstacle associated with the use of Web3, namely exorbitant gas fees and slow network speeds.

«Thanks to this integration, usersOpera will be able to seamlessly interact with DeFi through a user-friendly interface and experience a completely new way to interact with financial services at a low cost, which is especially relevant for users who cannot afford the high transaction costs of Ethereum.

In 2018, Opera introduced a built-in crypto wallet and decentralized application (DApp) explorer. Other integrations followed, including Bitcoin, Celo, etc.

In January of this year, the Norwegian multinational technology company announced the launch of a beta version of its Crypto Browser project for Windows, Mac and Android users.

New project aims to accelerate evolutionWeb3, giving users access to the latest blockchain news, upcoming airdrops, event calendar, NFTs, crypto communities, and more. It also helps users track cryptocurrency prices, gas fees, general market sentiment.

To expand into the DApp space, Opera partnered with Polygon in December to allow users to transact using the native MATIC token.

This move allowed Opera usersconnect to various platforms like Sushiswap, Aave, Balancer in addition to blockchain based NFT games and marketplaces like Decentraland, Opensea, Sandbox. In addition, a similar partnership with Solana was announced, giving users access to Solana's DApps.
