Разработчики популярного клиента для Эфириума OpenEthereum сообщили о полном прекращении работы над проектом в связи со скорым переходом сети второй криптовалюты на алгоритм PoS.
В серии сообщений в Twitter разработчики presented a brief history of the client, which began back in 2015 under the name Parity. As the statement notes, “The OpenEthereum codebase is now 7 years old and increasingly difficult to maintain and manage.”
“The software repository has been moved to archive, all support and updates of the program have been stopped. The transition to PoS is approaching,” the developers write.
The OpenEthereum team noted that nowNow is the right time to stop supporting a customer. The usefulness of this software has expired, and the developers are looking forward to the “next stage - a clean, green and scalable blockchain infrastructure.”
Earlier, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and several other developers confirmed that the transition to the new Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism could take place as early as August of this year.
