Binance Clients Report Suspension of Support for Russian Bank Cards by the Exchange

Trading platform users were unable to top up their account. The company called this a mistake and emphasizedthat it is operating normally.

Some users from Russia whotried to deposit funds to Binance using cards of Russian banks, received an alert that Russian bank cards are not currently supported, writes Cryptoslate.

“Currently, we do not support bank cards issued in your country. We are working to make this possible as quickly as we can,” the post reads.

There was no crypto exchange in official social networksno ads. At the same time, the company stressed that Binance is operating normally. And a representative of Binance Russia in a comment to CryptoSlate called this a mistake.

“No one blocked anything. It's probably some kind of mistake. If we make any changes, we inform about it, ”said the representative of the crypto exchange.

According to messages in Telegram, one of the users was unable to replenish the account using a Tinkoff bank card. CryptoSlate claims that cards issued by Sberbank were also rejected.

Earlier, the US authorities called on the largest crypto exchangesgive guarantees that they will not be used to circumvent anti-Russian sanctions. The Joe Biden administration has approached Binance, FTX, and Coinbase on the matter.

A Binance spokesperson said that the exchange is notplans to close access to the trading platform for all Russian users without exception, but the platform has already taken steps to identify individuals against whom sanctions have been imposed. FTX and Coinbase are also partnering with the US presidential administration, Bloomberg sources say.
