One Chinese province accounts for more than a third of Bitcoin’s hashrate.

According to the new map of the distribution of computing power of the bitcoin network, the Chinese province of Sichuan accounts for 35.76% of the global hashrate.

A team from the University of Cambridge launchedBitcoin Mining Map service, which reflects the distribution of the average monthly hash rate of BTC by country and separately by region of China. The main data sources for the platform are mining pools ViaBTC, Poolin and BTC.com.

According to the map, China remains the leader in cryptocurrency mining, with 65.08% of the global Bitcoin hashrate concentrated. Behindit is followed by the United States with 7.24%, and Russia with 6.9%, Kazakhstan with 6.17%, Malaysia with 4.33% and Iran with 3.82%. All other countries in the world account for 6.5% of the total capacity.

Interestingly, more than half of the Chinesecomputing power (35.76% of the global total) is concentrated in Sichuan. At the same time, as we approach the halving, the global hashrate is growing rapidly and setting new records.

Cryptanalyst Mati Greenspan also noted that after the May 50% cut in rewards, the annual Bitcoin inflation rate will be below the world average.
