Miners in Sichuan, China will have to reduce energy consumption during the drought

Authorities in the Chinese province of Sichuan asked mining companies to limit electricity consumptionin the dry season.

Therefore, in order to provide more important consumers, Sichuan authorities asked mining companies to limit energy consumption.

Mining operations are not encouraged in Chinacompanies, however, during the rainy season more electricity is generated than needed, so the operation of farms is usually unregulated. But during the dry season, there is only enough electricity for the local population and more traditional businesses.

It was previously reported that Chinese regulatorsplan to tighten supervision over mining companies. Last week, Hebei provincial authorities seized nearly 7,000 Bitcoin ASIC miners illegally connected to the power grid.
