It will be the same as now: the Ministry of Communications announced that the law on sovereign runet will not affect Telegram

The law on sovereign RuNet that has come into force will not affect the work of the Telegram messenger. This was stated by the deputy headThe Ministry of Communications Alexey Volin, reports TASS.

«It will be the same as now. So, does anyone have any problems?»,— said the official.

He also said that the Ministry of Communications does not support the bill to block users of instant messengers and email for disseminating information prohibited in the Russian Federation.

According to Volin, this bill “violates the principle of network neutrality and is technically unrealizable.”

Earlier, the presidential envoy for digital and technological development Dmitry Peskov said there was no Telegram ban in the country.

He later explained that the service was officially blocked in the Russian Federation due to violations of Russian law, but its use is not a violation.

Recall that Telegram has been formally blocked in the Russian Federation since April 2018 for refusing to provide the FSB with keys for decrypting user messages.
