Hackers hack into the Bored Ape Yacht Club Discord and steal $340,000 worth of NFTs

Members of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) community were affected by an attack by attackers who entered the channel on Discord through an accountPR manager.

The BAYC team reported on Twitter about a phishing attack on the project: the hackers' target was the serverUnknown persons, using an exploit, stole non-fungible tokens (NFTs) worth 200 ethers (about $340,000 ).

"We are still investigating, but if you are affected, please email us at [email protected]," the message says.

The BAYC team complained that the centralized servers of the Discord messenger do not provideprotection for Web3 projects:

"We need a better platform that puts safety first."

According  to him, the hackers hacked into the account of the PR manager of the YugaLabs project, Boris Vagner, and through his accountThe expert added that improving the system couldprevent similar incidents in the future.
