Hackers Hack Lion's IT System and Demand $ 800,000 at Monero

Australian drinks maker Lion has suffered its second ransomware attack in a month. Hackers demand$ 800,000 at Monero, threatening to double the amount tomorrow.

According to The Sydney MorningHerald, Lion informed its employees that the hacker attack disrupted the organization's IT infrastructure. Hacker group REvil demands $800,000 in Monero. If Lion does not pay this amount on June 19, the extortionists will double the ransom to $1.6 million.

This attack is the second attempt by hackers to disruptoperation of the company's IT system. The first attack occurred on June 9, after which the company made security changes and reported updates on its website.

Lion has reportedly contacted the companyAccenture to help you regain access to your system. More detailed information about the second attack has not yet been disclosed. A Lion spokesperson said:

“We confirm that Lion was the victim of an ransomware virus. So far we cannot comment in more detail on the situation. ”

The hacker group REvil has become more active in recent times.months. They recently gained access to the data of US software and robotics firm Symbotic LLC and demanded ransom in BTC and XMR. Last month, a group of hackers stole 756GB of celebrity data from a law firm and demanded $42 million in XMR, while also threatening to publish dirt on US President Donald Trump.
