Filecoin (FIL), a community-driven decentralized blockchain marketplace and file storage,launched its main network.

Even before the launch of the main network, support for the coin was announced by the Gemini and Kraken exchanges. According to Gemini's announcement, FIL deposits and withdrawals began on October 15, the day the network was launched.

In addition to this, Gemini also decided to add FIL to their storage service.

Kraken announced similar support back on Monday. On Kraken, FIL will trade against four currencies including BTC and ETH, as well as EUR and USD.

On the day of the launch, the listing of the token was supported by Huobi, OKEx and Binance.

The coin took 24th place in the ranking in terms of capitalization with an indicator of $998 million, the volume of the first day was $218 million. A sharp rise after the launch of the network to $114.32 was followed by a fall to $67.86.

The project itself is not entirely new, as ithas been in development for over three years, and has delayed the launch of the main network, originally scheduled for March 2020, several times. In 2017, the cryptocurrency raised $ 205 million through its Initial Coin Offering (ICO).
