There is less than a day left before the activation of one of the most important updates of the Ethereum network.
The London hard fork includesmyself a few significant proposals for improving Ethereum (EIP):
- EIP-1559 – changes the mechanism for awarding rewards to miners and reduces the cost of gas.It is assumed that EIP 1559 will reduce the income of Ethereum miners by 20-30%.
- EIP-3554 - Delay the activation of the difficulty bomb until December 2021. As part of this "bomb", there will be an increase in block execution time and a decrease in rewards for miners.
- EIP-3541 — blocks smart contracts whose address begins with "0xEF".
- EIP-3529 - Reduces gas compensation.
At the moment, 72% of nodes are ready for upgrade.
