Dark matter can "devour" ordinary matter, astronomers suggest

According to the new theory, dark matter is able to transform ordinary matter and grow at its expense.

Researchers know about the existence of dark matter only by the gravitational effect on the braidmystical objects and light, but neverwere not seen due to the lack of electromagnetic interaction. Over many years of observations, not a single fact of interaction of HM with ordinary matter was recorded.

Based on this fact, the international teamscientists from the American Physical Society suggested that when dark matter comes into contact with baryonic particles, it can transform them. The study says that as a result of direct interaction, ordinary matter irreversibly turns into dark.

According to the authors of the article, in the initial stagesdevelopment of the Universe, the amount of HM was insignificant, but quickly increased precisely due to the “devouring” of baryonic matter. However, over time, the exponential growth stopped due to the expansion of space, since direct contact between them is necessary for transformation.

With regard to this theory, there is a massquestions, but it agrees well with modern observations of dark matter. The team hopes their work will help better understand the mysteries of the universe, to which scientists are constantly finding clues. For example, recently at CERN they found evidence of the existence of a new force of nature.
