By the end of 2020, Bitmain, MicroBT, Canaan and Ebang will control 98% of the production of ASIC miners

According to calculations by TokenInsight analysts, by the end of 2020, 98% of the production of ASIC miners will be under the control of the entirefour companies: Bitmain, MicroBT, Canaan and Ebang.

According to analysts, today they already control 95% of the market and during the current year this figure will increase by 3% due to the network effect.

“In the past, these four companies constantly hadsignificant impact on the market. In the future, this influence will only strengthen their dominant position,” — notes TokenInsight analyst Johnson Xu.

According to him, these four companies are unlikelythey will face competition from the outside, because the mining industry is for the most part closed to new players due to too high research costs, difficulties with logistics and marketing.

According to TokenInsight, Bitmain will increase its stake from 55-58% to 63%, and Canaan - from 10-15% to 18%.

“After business restructuring, Bitmain’s sharewill become noticeably larger thanks to influence and brand”, — says Xu. Also adding optimism is Bitmain’s refusal to research in the field of artificial intelligence, which had high costs and low profitability. Analysts' forecasts for Canaan are based on the company's successful IPO in 2019. They believe this has opened up new opportunities for her.

At the same time, the share of MicroBT, on the contrary, will decrease from 20-25% to 10%, since the arrest of the founder of the company caused significant damage to the brand.

Last week, it became known that the Chinese authorities demanded to close the mining farm of the BTC.TOP pool due to the coronavirus.
