A mining farm near Moscow was fined 100 million rubles

Moscow-based Electronet won a lawsuit for almost 100 million rubles for stealing electricity by miners.

INthe center of the scandal was a mining farmlocated on the territory of Korolev near Moscow, allocated for a technology park. The company "Innovative Digital Technologies" (IDT) connected mining equipment without an agreement on connection to power grids. 

Employees of Mosoblenergo discovered the illegal connection in April last year.Since then, Electronet has tried to prove in court the fact that the electricity was cut by the ICT.

The entanglement in the documents of ownership of the land on which the equipment was located, the change of three owners and two management companies of the site delayed the trial.The first court at the end of the summer failed to prove the accessories of the equipment for the extraction of cryptocurrency to the ITT and illegal enrichment of the company at the expense ofAccording to the investigation documents, the ICC has connected mining equipment to the energy supply without the knowledge of the energy company.

As a result, the court declared the consumption of electricity in the amount of 98.8 million rubles illegal and ordered ICT to fully compensate for the damage caused.
