Another portion of fundsstolen from the Bitfinex exchange in 2016, was set in motion. The transaction was noticed by the Whale Alert cryptanalytic service.
</p>77.644901 BTC (almost $ 800,000) was transferred from the wallet on which part of the stolen funds were stored to an anonymous address.
This is already the second transfer made with attackers in recent years. On May 22, they withdrew 28.39124 BTC ($ 258,000) from another wallet.
As a reminder, the Bitfinex hack happened in August 2016. In total, the attackers stole 119,756 BTC ($ 71.8 million at the exchange rate at the time).
The exchange paid off all debts after losing bitcoins in April 2017. In mid-2019, Israeli police arrested two brothers suspected of burglaries.
