Dagestani miners systematically steal electricity

The North Caucasus leads in the number of illegal mining farms. Rosseti inspectors recently discoveredanother illegal connection to the power supply.

A mining farm was discovered in a rural area and managed to steal electricity worth 1.7 million rubles. The miner used a strong magnet to stop the counter. 

In early summer, in the suburbs of Makhachkala, a miner stoleelectricity for 34 million rubles. Another resident of the southern capital used his garage to mine cryptocurrency using an illegal connection. Both had to pay full damages to the power supply company.

Dagestani miners prefer to cut costsdue to free electricity. Over the past year, seventeen illegal connections to power supply networks have been detected in the republic. In total, the damage from the theft of electricity for mining amounted to more than 200 million rubles.

Such indicators forced energy company specialists to organize daily raids to prevent theft and propaganda among the population.
