The story of the scandalous OneCoin cryptocurrency pyramid will soon hit the big screens.
Starringadaptation of the OneCoin story called "Fake!" (Fake!) Starring Kate Winslet. The script for the film is based on an as-yet unpublished book by Jen McAdam and Douglas Thompson.
The book itself will be handed over to publishers in mid-October. The Titanic star will portray Macadam as she conducts her own investigation into OneCoin.
Jen McAdam is one of the most famous crypto-pyramid victims, who founded a support fund for victims ofScam.
The scandalous scam was promoted by Bulgarianoffshore companies Onecoin Ltd. and Onelife Network Ltd., both of which were founded by Ruja Ignatova in collaboration with Sebastian Greenwood. Under the guise of issuing cryptocurrency, the project defrauded investors of almost $4.4 billion.
Ruzha Ignatova disappeared in 2017 and continues to this daysuccessfully escaped, and Greenwood was arrested in 2018. The brother of the OneCoin founder, Konstantin Ignatov, pleaded guilty to charges of money laundering and fraud after his arrest in March last year. Recently, a number of suspects in the OneCoins scheme were arrested in Singapore.
