Two OneCoin Promoters Found Dead

In Mexico, two fraudsters from the OneCoin pyramid were found murdered.

Mexican authorities have discoveredOscar Brito Ibarra and Ignacio Ibarra with traces of violent death in a vacant lot in Mazatlán.An investigation launched by the local police determined the death by suffocation. 

The police suspect of involvement in the murder of local cartels that actively use cryptocurrency to launder funds.

According to the case file, Oscar Brito took an active part in one of Ponzi's most extensive and ambitious cryptocurrency schemes – OneCoin. 

After participating in several suspicious MLM initiatives in late 2017, Brito joined OneCoin as a partner. 

Cooperating with a small group of Chileanaffiliates of OneCoin, he traveled to Argentina, Brazil and Colombia, increasing the number of defrauded investors, luring them into OneCoin's failed e-commerce platform, DealShaker.

At the end of 2019, Brito joinedLatin American Automotive Marketing Company (CLA). CLA operated in Argentina and Colombia. The company's business model offered huge discounts on auto purchases when using OneCoin. According to police, in late June, the promoters arrived in Mazatlan to meet with a CLA representative, where they were found dead.

Last spring, the U.S. Attorney's Office in New Yorkarrested the main leader of the OneCoin project, Konstantin Ignatov, claiming that he was involved in stealing billions of dollars from investors. Ruja Ignatova has organized a billion dollar scam for decades and is still at large.
