During a recent appearance on Squawk Box, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi revealed thatthe passenger transport giant is considering Bitcoin (BTC) as an alternative payment method:
«Just as we accept all types of local currencies, we will consider cryptocurrency or Bitcoin for transactions. This is good for business, for our drivers and customers.

At the same time, Khosrowshahi strongly rejected the idea of including cryptocurrency in the company's reserves, considering it a speculative game:
«We had a conversation on this topic, but we quickly abandoned this idea. We prefer to keep our money safe and do not seek to engage in speculation».
Anthony Pompliano of Morgan Creek Digital sarcastically commented on the executive's words, saying that Uber simply does not have a return on investment in cryptocurrency.
