Trezor warned of fake app on Google Play

The developers of the Trezor hardware wallet warned Android device users about the fake Mobile applicationManager Wallet distributed in the Google Play store.

The company warned that the malicious application had nothing to do with Trezor or SatoshiLabs and recommended not installing it.

At the time of writing, the fake app is still available on Google Play. It has been downloaded by over a thousand people.

Twitter users note that the creatorsmalware faked positive reviews, raising the app's rating to 4.7 points. In the comments, some complain that the application hangs after entering the seed phrase.

"Never share your seed phrase until the Trezor device asks you to," the developers recalled.

The Trezor team has also published a hardware wallet guide for Android owners, which has been encouraged to be used as the only official manual.

At the end of November 2020, a fake application of the Uniswap decentralized exchange appeared on Google Play, which stole cryptocurrencies from users. One of them lost $ 20,000.
