Trezor hardware wallet desktop app

SatoshiLabs, which has developed a line of hardware wallets for Trezor cryptocurrencies, has launched a desktop client,known as the Trezor Suite.

According to a recent blog post, TrezorThe suite is designed to dramatically improve the Trezor user experience, delivering an enhanced experience for both desktop and mobile platforms. The new desktop app offers improvements in three key areas: security, usability, and privacy.

The solution significantly reduces the risk of phishing attacks,allowing users to manage their funds without using an Internet browser, and also contains a number of user interface improvements that simplify operations with cryptocurrencies. This includes a new account and coin management system, as well as improved tools for managing hidden wallet (i.e. passwords).

In addition, users can nowuse the Trezor Suite to run a full Bitcoin node, increasing the privacy of transactions and participating in their verification. Trezor has also added a hidden mode for an additional layer of privacy and plans to implement Tor support.

«With Trezor Suite, we wanted to combine the Trezor experience across all your devices to provide greater flexibility in how you use your Bitcoin.»- said the CEO of SatoshiLabs Marek Palatinus.

Prior to the launch of Trezor Suite, hardwarewallet, you had to connect your Trezor device to a computer running the Trezor Bridge application and the associated Trezor Wallet browser plugin. Users now have the choice to use a standalone desktop application through the Trezor Suite, or an older browser application.

The new Trezor desktop wallet has a design similar to the rival Ledger Live desktop client.

The Trezor Suite is currently in public beta testing until around January 2021, with the team collecting community feedback to create an improved product.

The mobile version of the Trezor Suite is slated for release next year and will simultaneously suspend support for the old Trezor wallet plugin as soon as the desktop wallet goes live.
