The Hermitage will host the NFT-Art exhibition

In 2021, the State Hermitage will hold an exhibition of works of art executed in the formatnon-fungible tokens (NFT).

The exhibition is being developed by the Museum's Department of Contemporary Art. The exhibition will be held as part of the Hermitage 20/21 Project.

The Hermitage project will be the first in Russiaexhibition research in the field of art of NFT-tokens and their use in the artistic field, which today is the most urgent agenda in the field of contemporary art. Non-fungible tokens have become a new form of securing rights to a work of art using blockchain technology, which allows you to establish unambiguous control over copyright and ownership rights.

The exhibition will be a continuation of the workState Hermitage Museum on new forms of art, launched within the framework of the exhibitions "Innovation as an artistic device" (2018) and "Artificial Intelligence and Dialogue of Cultures" (2019) together with RDI.Creative and seminars of the State Hermitage and ITMO University

Aksenov Family Foundation will be the strategic partner of the project. The goal of many of the foundation's projects is to study the forms of audience involvement in new cultural practices.
