The case of underground mining at the Lviv Railway was transferred to court

The ex-official of the Lviv Railway will appear in court for mining cryptocurrencies at the expense of the state.

An official working on the Lviv railway section abused his official position by connecting more than a hundred bitcoin miners to the power grid of a state-owned rail transportation provider. The discovery of mining equipment by the security service and law enforcement officers in November last year put an end to illegal cryptocurrency mining by railway employees.

Now the official is accused of abuse of office for personal enrichment and causing damage to the state in the amount of 400,000 hryvnias.According to law enforcement officials, it was for this amount that the attacker stole electricity for the extraction of digital currencies.

The materials of the case are submitted to court. At the moment, the gray miner faces imprisonment for up to three years.
