The authorities found a new way to control payments of Russians: the Central Bank conceived a "digital ruble".
According to the plan, citizenswill have "electronic wallets" directly in the Central Bank, and the state will control transactions "automatically."
The Bank of Russia, following the leading central banks of the world, is studying the possibility of introducing a new form of national currency - the “digital ruble”.
The third hypostasis - along with paper banknotes andnon-cash money in the banking system - will have all the properties of the first two: digital money can be used for payments and savings, according to the Central Bank's advisory report published on Tuesday.
At the same time, unlike traditional non-cash rubles, “digital” will be located outside the banking system - on “electronic wallets” directly in the Central Bank.
