A cryptocurrency startup with Russian roots, Revolut, has entered into a partnership agreement with the payment giant Mastercard aimed at launching debit cards in the USA.
Today, an announcement appeared on the companies website that the release of Revolut cards will be implemented by the end of this year.
Launching in the USA will be a huge milestone for us, and we are very pleased that Mastercard will become our partner, ”said Nick Strowski, founder and CEO of Revolut.
As part of the transaction, Mastercard will issue at leasthalf of all existing Revolut maps in Europe. The partnership will also allow Revolut to enter Asian and Latin American countries, including Australia, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Brazil and Mexico. This means that the company’s activities can expand to 210 countries in which the Mastercard payment service operates.
Last month, Revolut also partnered with another payment giant, Visa.
