Square Enix has announced one of its first NFT-based interactive games.

One of the leading Japanese gaming companies has introduced a new game, developed from scratch “for Web3 fans.”

Square Enix has announced Symbiogenesis, a game that will revolve around symbiote characters that players can collect as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

It is reported that the game will have a plot, andplayers will be able to complete tasks while unraveling a mystery. The further users can progress in completing tasks, the more the game will open up, Square Enix says. The game's plot will center around the monopolization and distribution of resources.

Company CEO Yosuke Matsuda(Yosuke Matsuda) has repeatedly expressed the opinion that blockchain games have enormous potential for creating new forms of gaming content, and also represent a form of business that the company plans to master.

The game will run on Ethereum, andThe release will take place, the developers promise, in the spring of 2023. This is the first project that will be completely customized for Web3. Prior to this, the company announced its intention to integrate elements of new technologies into existing franchises.

Earlier it became known that leading Japanese gaming companies, including Square Enix, Bandai Namco and SEGA, are planning to implement the Oasys blockchain in their future projects.
