One of the leading Japanese gaming companies has unveiled a new game being developed from scratch "for Web3 fans".

Square Enix has announced a game called Symbiogenesis, which will revolve around symbiote characters that players can collect in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
It is reported that the game will have a story, and playerswill be able to complete tasks, unraveling a certain mystery. The further users can progress through the tasks, the more the game will open up, Square Enix says. The plot of the game will be centered around monopolization and distribution of resources.
CEO Yosuke Matsuda(Yosuke Matsuda) has repeatedly expressed the opinion that blockchain games have great potential to create new forms of game content, and also represent a form of business that the company plans to master.
The game will run on Ethereum, and the releasewill take place, the developers promise, in the spring of 2023. This is the first project that will be fully customized for Web3. Prior to this, the company announced its intention to integrate elements of new technologies into existing franchises.
Earlier it became known that the leading Japanese gaming companies, including Square Enix, Bandai Namco and SEGA, are planning to implement the Oasys blockchain in their future projects.
