S&P Dow Jones Creates Index for Cryptocurrencies

The world's leading provider of indices for financial markets is preparing to launch a new tool thatwill help investors track the performance of cryptocurrency assets such asbitcoin.

To create the new index, S&P Dow Jones Indices is teaming up with cryptocurrency company Lukka. Creatorsindex S&Pwill provide index branding, and Lukka will process the data.

"Because digital coins are fastAs an emerging asset class, it is time for independent, reliable and user-friendly tools to analyze the cryptocurrency market,” said Peter Roffman, Head of Innovation and Strategy at S&P Dow Jones Indices.
