Samsung tests 5G network prototype with 5.23 Gbps data transfer rate

Samsung Electronics was able to dramatically increase the data transfer speed in the new version of the 5G wireless mobile network.

To achieve this result, the project team used E-UTRAN dual radio channel technology and bearer aggregation to combine multiple spectrum channels.

During testing, the company combined 40 MHz4G frequencies and 800 MHz 5G frequencies in millimeter waves. This made it possible to transfer data to the Samsung Galaxy S20 + smartphone with a common 4G / 5G core at a speed of 5.23 Gbps.

After a successful demonstration, company vice president Ji-Yoon Seolsaid the improved technology will help mobile operators significantly improve service quality from their existing equipment.

As 5G technology advances rapidly, South Korea already plans to begin testing 6G systems in 2026.
