Samsung unveiled the first 16GB DRD LPDDR5 chips based on 10nm manufacturing technology, which consume less power and run on30% faster than existing counterparts.
After integrating new chips into flagshipSamsung smartphone models, they will begin to outperform many modern PCs in performance. Because in addition to increasing the amount of RAM itself, the data processing speed will also increase to 5500 Mbit/s, or by about 30%. At the same time, the company claims that during operation, the new chips consume 20% less energy compared to the current generation.
Samsung says better DRAM will help5G and AI-enabled phones can handle increased data processing, improve dynamic gameplay and support ultra-high-resolution graphics. In the future, the company plans to release third-generation 16 GB LPDDR5 chips, which will operate at a speed of 6400 Mbps.
However, all these improvements will affect the cost of mobile phones, which will cost more than most personal computers.
