Samsung has improved the protection of cryptocurrency data in its smartphones

South Korean electronics giant Samsung said it is improving the security infrastructure of itssmartphones to enhance the protection of cryptocurrency user data.

In a press release, the company announced the release of a newsecurity element designed to better protect data stored on smartphones. The new hardware is a turnkey mobile phone security solution called Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance (CC EAL) that can be installed on any smartphone. The statement notes:

“Samsung’s new solution isa special storage protected from unauthorized access, which reliably stores confidential and cryptocurrency data of users. “PIN codes, passwords and data for accessing crypto assets are stored separately from the main memory of the smartphone.”

Due to the fact that smartphones are increasingly storedconfidential financial data, such as passwords for access to cryptocurrency wallets and seeds, Samsung says security protocols should be developed. The company notes that the new security protocols protect against various attacks and reverse engineering techniques.

The new hardware solution has already been launched into mass productionproduction and will be presented in the Galaxy S20 series of smartphones. Let's remember that in the middle of the month the company confirmed that support for cryptocurrencies, including BTC, ETH and ERC-20 tokens, has been added to the new line of Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphones.
