Amendments to the law “On digital financial assets (DFA)” prepared by the RF Ministry of Finance prohibit miners from receiving cryptocurrency.
The agency prohibits receiving remuneration for mining in cryptocurrency, follows from the letter, a copy of which was reviewed by Izvestia. Coin mining itself is permitted, but loses its financial value.
The ban covers all transactions with virtual money for individuals and individual entrepreneurs, as well as their use as a means of payment.Violators face a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles and up to seven years in prison, and legal entities face a fine of up to 1 million rubles.
The only possible ways for Russians to receive cryptocurrencies will be inheritance, obtaining assets through bankruptcy and enforcement proceedings.
