Roskomnadzor announced the possibility of blocking Twitter in a month

MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Roskomnadzor (RKN) will block the social network Twitter in Russia in a month,if the service does not remove the prohibited information. This was announced to TASS by the deputy head of the department Vadim Subbotin.

«We took a month and are watching the reactionTwitter regarding the removal of prohibited information. After which, depending on the actions of the administration of the social network, appropriate decisions will be made, — said the TASS interlocutor. — If Twitter does not comply with the requirements of Roskomnadzor and the requirements of Russian legislation, accordingly, we will consider the issue of completely blocking the service in Russia.

According to him, if the company fulfills all the requirements, the sanctions against it will be lifted.

On March 10, Roskomnadzor announced the start«primary deceleration» the speed of Twitter in Russia due to the fact that the service does not delete content prohibited in the country. The department promised to continue measures to influence the social network until it was blocked. At the same time, as the head of the control and supervision department in the field of electronic communications of Roskomnadzor, Evgeny Zaitsev, said last week, the agency is ready to conduct a dialogue with the company, but it does not respond to requests and demands.
