Ripple will release internal company records to SEC

The battle between Ripple (XRP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is still ongoing.

AdditionalThe SEC filed a petition for access to some audio and video recordings of meetings of Ripple employees on the last day of August.

Ripple refused to provide these files andargued that the application was filed too late. In addition, the company stated that the Securities and Exchange Commission had been aware of the existence of these records for some time and had never actively solicited them. As a result, an agreement was reached that Ripple will provide all the records required by the SEC.

The commission will have access to audio recordingscertain meetings during which Ripple employees discussed the beginning of the investigation, the company's strategy amid the fall in the price of XRP in February 2018, and the centralization of cryptocurrencies in March 2020.

In early September, regulatory oversight receivedaccess to internal messages of Ripple employees in the Slack messenger. The agency claims that communications from company employees on popular business communication platforms may contain important and unique evidence pertaining to the case.

In turn, Ripple received permission to view SEC documents.
