Ray Dalio's company is considering investing in bitcoin

The American investment company Bridgewater Associates is considering the possibility of buying Bitcoin. About itwrites The Block with reference to its founder, Ray Dalio.

“I'm writing this to outline my thoughts on bitcoin,” Dalio said in a Bridgewater Daily Observations column for the company's clients. "I think bitcoin is an invention that still needs to be looked for."

Dalio has said in the past that he doesn't see in Bitcoincurrency for everyday use. He later softened his tone somewhat by admitting that Bitcoin could be a "gold-like asset." He also expressed concerns about the security of the cryptocurrency from cyber attacks.

In a final post, he writes that bitcoin "looks like a long-term option for a highly unpredictable future in which I will invest and will not be upset if I lose 80%."

“Together with my colleagues at Bridgewater,I am exploring alternative store of value and expect Bridgewater to come up with an alternative fund soon to better deal with the depreciation of money. We see this as a major risk and opportunity. Bitcoin will not escape our attention, ”he added.

Bridgewater Associates was founded by Dalio in 1975 and has $ 150 billion under management as of January 2021.
