Poloniex Bitcoin Exchange Users Data Allegedly Merged

One of the users of the Poloniex exchange posted on Twitter a screenshot of a dubious letter allegedly from the servicesupport. In it, the site reported that it had reset the existing password, and asked to install a new one. It turned out the letter is real.

Poloniex reported that a certain Twitter user published a list of emails and account passwords, which forced the exchange to act in this way.

Most emails are allegedly not owned by users of the site, according to the support service, but they decided to take precautions.

In one of the profile telegram channels alreadyconfirmed that some traders were not able to enter the old passwords. There is also an assumption that the database contains only data for accounts no younger than 2015.

Recall that in the fall, Poloniex was acquired by a group of Asian investors led by Justin Sun. Since then, the exchange has fallen into a series of controversial situations.
