Poll: 79% of Americans are in favor of more transparent regulation of cryptocurrencies

American adults' opinions on cryptocurrencies vary, but the vast majority of respondents—79% – believe that the crypto industry in the United States requires greater regulatory transparency.

The survey was conducted by a tracking companypublic opinion The Harris Poll commissioned by the investment firm Grayscale. As part of the study, 2,029 American adults were surveyed between October 6 and October 11. In addition to more transparent regulation of cryptocurrencies, 76% of respondents believe that more “clear rules” are needed for trading digital assets.

“We are seeing strong support for regulationcryptocurrencies in the USA - Americans want clearly established rules and regulations. US residents emphasize that regulation should be consumer-oriented so that any citizen has access to cryptocurrencies,” experts note.

At the same time, survey participants trust moretraditional financial instruments rather than investing in cryptocurrency – 84% chose traditional finance, and only 51% chose digital assets. Americans' trust in politicians and the government is even lower - 49%. 53% of respondents said that cryptocurrencies will become the “future of the financial industry.”

The study notes that moreTransparent regulation of the cryptocurrency industry could attract investment from more Americans. 57% of respondents reported that they would find it easier to invest in cryptocurrencies if regulations were clearer and more understandable. Currently, only 20% have invested in any cryptocurrencies, and 6% of respondents own NFTs.

Previously, asset management company Charles Schwab & Co reported that 43% of zoomers and 47% of millennials have already invested in cryptocurrencies to fund their retirement funds.
