Mishustin cut funding for the Digital Economy and quarantined

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin confirmed that he has contracted the coronavirus. The official is forcedgo into self-isolation at one of the medical institutions in Moscow.

Now, all colleagues who contacted the prime minister will be screened for coronavirus. The Cabinet of Ministers will continue to work as usual, led by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov.

Despite self-isolation, Mishustin continues to work remotely. He recently signed a decision to cut the budget of the national Digital Economy program for the current year.

Due to the epidemiological situation, the reservethe country's fund requires replenishment. It is planned to transfer 55 billion rubles from various directions and departments to it, including 14.34 billion rubles from the planned finances for the implementation of the Digital Economy program.

Cut more than 11% of total volumefunding will completely deprive the program of introducing 5G technologies. Financing for the development of “end-to-end” digital technologies and blockchain will lose about 80 out of 146.3 million.
