Ledger Joins Universal Protocol Alliance

Hardware cryptocurrency wallet maker Ledger has joined the Universal Protocol Alliance (UPA), which conducts blockchain compatibility research.

UPA includes Bittrex Global,Cred, a decentralized lending platform, Uphold payment startup, CertiK and Blockchain at Berkeley, a smart contract security firm. UPA executives said blockchain security solutions from Ledger will be integrated with Universal Protocol technology. The alliance believes that the infrastructure of the Ledger Vault custodial solution with increased security and protection against hacker attacks will help in solving the problems that the organization’s members are working on.

Note that in March UPA planned to addstablecoin Universal Dollar (UPUSD), Universal Euro (UPEUR) and the internal cryptocurrency Universal Protocol Token (UPT) on the Bittrex exchange. UPUSD and UPEUR are provided with the corresponding fiat currencies in the ratio 1: 1.

UPA co-founder and CEO Cred DanDan Schatt said Ledger’s solutions designed to hold digital assets of banks, hedge funds, cryptocurrency exchanges and high net worth individuals will help make UPT stablecoin a “mega-utilitarian cryptocurrency.” According to Shutt, Ledger will facilitate the massive adoption of blockchain technology using all of the Universal Protocol stablecoins. The shuttle also stressed the need for interaction between different blockchains, especially for the networks of Ethereum, Bitcoin, EOS and Ripple.

Last May, the Ledger Vault solution becameUse a Uphold startup to enhance client asset protection. In addition, the Canadian National Digital Asset Exchange (NDAX) introduced this solution last spring.
